Flagyl Precautions

Here are some advices and precautions if you decided to use Flagyl.
If you are going to take Flagyl, consult your physician or pharmacist if you have allergy to it; or to other nitroimidazoles e.g. tinidazole; or if you are allergic to other drugs or substances.. This Flagyl pills may also include addicional components, which can result in allergy symptoms or other issues. In this case please don’t hesitate to ask your doctor for more detailed information.
Prior to taking the Flagyl pills tell your doctor about health issues you have, especially if you have liver complications, nervous system problems (e.g., convulsions), cardiovascular diseases and Crohn’s disease.
Don’t drink alcohol while taking Flagyl and for at least one day (or three days in case if you take oral capsules) after finishing antibiotic since alcohol may cause serious stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, headaches and flushing.
Flafyl may also cause dizziness. Don’t drive car, use other mechanical equipment, or do any work that needs vigilance until you are sure that such medication like Flagyl doesn’t cause drowsiness which is dangerous for performing such kinds of work as described above.
If you are older than 60 years please talk to your dosctor as Flagyl is generally not advised for elderly people.
If you are pregnant please consult with your physician as Flagyl is not recommended to be taken during pregnancy. It is prohibited to be taken during the first 3 months of pregnancy and it should be used  with precaution during the last 6 months. It can be taken only in the ultimate case when other antibiotics don’t work for you.
Flagyl is observed to  absorb  into breast milk. Please consult about the possible dangers  with your physician before breast-feeding. If you have to take only one dose of Flagyl, your health care specialist may advise you to stop breast-feeding for a short period after taking the drug.
